Home is more than the apartment
On different approaches to housing.
Here, "home" means the apartment itself. The yard and the entrance hall are not part of the idea of "home." That is why many people try to buy more square meters for less money, paying little attention to infrastructure, design and surroundings. Hence yards turned into parking lots and dull entrance halls with room only for an elevator lobby and mailboxes. After all, people buy the specific square meters of an apartment, and whatever is behind the door doesn't matter.
In modern, high-quality projects, home is the whole property. You may not have that many square meters in your apartment, but you don't need them, because many activities are possible in the yard or in the community center. And people spend their "home time" not only within their own four walls behind a steel security door. This is where design, shared spaces, car-free yards and so on become important.
The only thing I can't work out is what comes first: good yards and entrance halls that let people get out of their four walls, or the people themselves, who will want this and automatically create demand for quality properties.
