SaaS turns into consulting through a product
Why do we need SaaS in the decade of vibe coding? You can build everything yourself.
Consulting has always existed. There is someone who knows (or thinks they know) how it should be done. Someone with experience, who has put years into studying a particular market and its cases.
Besides building my own management company, from which an IT product later grew, I did consulting for several management companies. Then we packaged that knowledge into a book, "The Developer and the Management Company." People listened, read, and went off to apply it at home: through Excel, through integrations, through a set of different tools. Each as best they could.
Now Claude Code and vibe coding have been added to Excel. Building something that works has become much easier.
But if you add a product to consulting, and don't just tell people how it should be done but give them a tool that keeps developing as your understanding of the market develops, that is where real value appears.
Then people don't have to reinvent the wheel every time. They can trust such a "consultant in the form of a SaaS product" and grow with it.
Are there any arguments against?
